Helped to promote Software Craftsmanship and helped introduce the first internal mentoring program. Chosen as the first protégé to be mentored. Currently working with a client on a framework for the semiconductor manufacturing industry. Helped team transition away from TFS, which was proving to be a huge pain for the team, to Git. This has proven to be very successful for the team. Introduced common patterns into code to allow for greater testability and walked through them with team. Set up Continuous Integration server for team to monitor build status and to help prevent broken commits.

Introduced company to Continuous Integration (CI) and set up first CI server and build. Helped improve automated builds to aide in less issues during deployment. Maintained and refactored legacy web applications. Refactoring included updating technologies and using a test-driven approach to new features. Introduced Ruby on Rails to company and aided in development of the first set of applications that used Ruby. Introduced unobtrusive JavaScript and helpful JavaScript patterns that were used on several frontend-heavy applications. Worked on providing an environment that helped promote mentoring. Mentored other developers in Ruby, Rails and JavaScript.

Worked closely with a mentor on an EDI solution for claims management that included publishing a web service, text parsing, image manipulation and text transformation for clients. Developed a customer survey application for the customer service department. Refactored a WebForms application that was slow. Refactoring included moving most of the work from the server side to the client side. Introduced CSS and JavaScript to the organization as well as AJAX techniques to aid in front end development.

Setup a workstation image deployment infrastructure so that helpdesk technicians no longer had to prepare new computers manually. Managed over 500 workstations and telephones at multiple offices. Wrote software to help with helpdesk technician's daily needs. Managed both VOIP and PBX phone systems for employees. Planned and setup cabling, servers, phones and workstation for new branch office that had over 75 employees.

Served as a network and systems administrator for over 50 companies as well as a mentor to other employees. Supported companies with anywhere from 2 to 300 employees, 1 to 30 servers and 1 to 300 workstations. Worked directly with end users to establish needs and budget. Larger projects included planning and setting up infrastructure for a web hosting company, planning and setting up infrastructure for a large healthcare organization and moving a large healthcare organization's datacenter to a new office.
